Nomad Bridal Designer-wear

The Nomad label has been, for many years, synonymous with high end fashion. The label sitting alongside designers like Comme des Garcon, Issey Miyake and Yohji Yamamoto in Pollyanna boutique. Now in it’s own building, the range of clothing is aimed at a specific woman with a busy lifestyle. It also has it’s own range of luxury accessories – handbags and shoes.

Some of it’s loyal customers who have shopped here for years, have on occasion, wanted outfits for more formal occasions like weddings. It was at this time that the designers decided to put together a range of bridal wear in addition to requests for mother of the bride outfits.

With a turn away from the frilly upturned meringue, to a simpler, more avante-garde approach, the Nomad Bridalwear was born. Approached by the atelier for advertising fashion photography for the collection, we asked The Hepworth if we could use their gallery in Wakfield as a location for the shoot. Designed by the award winning architect David Chipperfield, it is home to a permanent collection from the sculptor Barbara Hepworth, who was born in Wakefield. Like the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, it is one of Yorkshire’s biggest attractions.
