Santa Margarita Church

Santa Margarita Church is in the heart of Rs Castell. It belongs to the Anglican Church and Reverend Paul Strudwick presides over it. I have worked with the Reverend and at Santa Margarita Church many times, photographing weddings. For any English couples wanting to have their wedding blessing on the island, he can give you the advice you need, to make sure you understand everything you need to know before you put your plans into action.

The town of Es Castell was built by the British when they occupied the island. The main square and the surrounding buildings were the barracks. Es Castell has the most incredible harbour, probably our favourite across the islands. The cove is called Cales Fonts and it has restaurant after restaurant along the water’s edge. It is here, and the short walk down from the church, where your photographer can capture some beautiful photographs of the wedding couple and the wedding party walking down to the Mediterranean. The bars on the harbour can serve refreshments to your guests while the photographer takes advantage of the setting and captures group photographs.

Son Granot

Son Granot is located on the south east side of Es Castell. It was the venue for this wedding reception. A colonial building, dating back to the British occupation, you get a sense of the architecture and feel from our group photograph, where we positioned the group on the steps and the balcony area. Son Granot is ideal for smaller wedding parties, if you need to use the inside areas to dine. Larger parties can be accommodated outside, if the temperatures are warm enough.

Definitely worth a drive down to see these venues if you’re planning your wedding on Menorca.
