The Dyehouse

A bitterly cold winter’s day in the North of England in early November and we are heading from our base in Palma de Mallorca to work with a talented team of architects, interior and product designers. One17Architects not only design beautiful buildings but they also design and manufacture beautiful pieces of furniture to compliment the build.

Simple and robust. These will easily outlast you. Made with thick, sheet steel, English oak, quality leather, these pieces are a statement in addition to practicality. Some of the new designs in this second phase will be used in another beautiful, tactile brochure. Our success on the first phase has led to an increase in demand and ultimately a second shoot. Along with the brochure, the website will also be updated, where customers can purchase and view the new range. The link is at the bottom of this blog..

Brooke’s Mill in Huddersfield was chosen for the location to photograph the new products. With large windows running down each side of the building, it was possible to take advantage of the natural daylight. The winter light supplied cooler light from one direction and warmth from the low sunlight in the other direction. A beautiful mix.

With the business’s heritage being in Yorkshire and many of the clients using One17, it was fitting to use an abandoned textile mill. Yorkshire of course was the textile capital of the world during the industrial revolutiion. Like many they now lie empty, but we used the Yorkshire stone floors and brick walls to compliment these Yorkshire designed and Yorkshire made furniture from the Dyehouse.
