Son Marroig near Deia

The warm waters of the Mediterranean is one of the main attractions for many visitors to Mallorca.

Mallorca has many things to attract visitors from all over the world but the Mediterranean Sea has to feature as one of the most important. The administrative centre for all the Balearic islands is in Palma de Mallorca, which is on the south coast of the island on the Bay of Palma. It is one of the main nautical ports in the Mediterranean and the size of the harbour demonstrates this. If you are choosing Mallorca as a place to host your wedding, the sea is never too far away. Although there are many superb venues on the island, if you want to watch the sun set into the Med while you celebrate with your friends, then have a look around the dramatic north coast of the island. There are some breathtaking venues which will not disappoint.

Son Marroig near Deia is one wedding venue which you should see on your tour of the island. The ceremonial area is raised by a marble construction with Roman style pillars, the balcany of which it sits, reaches out to the sea. It is on the estate which belonged to the Archduke of Austria, Ludwig Salvator. It offers certain rooms inside, from this beautifully restored former residence.

However, if the sun is shining, then you will enjoy your wedding reception on the terrace overlooking the sea. Because of the orientation of the north coast of Mallorca, the sunsets from this location couldn’t be better. The terrace faces the sun to the west as you sit down to enjoy the food brought in by outside caterers.
