Pikes Hotel is a renowned venue, hotel and restaurant near to San Antonio on the west side of Ibize. If you’re a frequent visitor to the island then you’ll know of this hotel. Most likely because of Freddie Mercury and George Michael connection from the UK pop industry. During the 80’s it hosted Freddie Mercury’s 41st birthday which is still regarded as the wildest party Ibiza has ever seen. It also was the place where Wham shot their video for Club Tropicana.
Since those days the dance era from Chicago traveled across the Atlantic and has never gone away. Pikes hotel attracts a hedonistic crowd but its unique quality with wall art and kitsch red crocodiles and plastic sheep, set it apart from anywhere else on the island.
This was the venue for a recent wedding we photographed. A photographer’s dream location, quirkiness in every direction. With limited weddings being held here it is a good one to get into our portfolio of work.
In addition to meeting all the wonderful guests at the wedding, we also met Tony Pike who lives on the premises. In his 80’s now, he still frequents the odd party by the pool. The photograph of the cat and monocle, Tony and Laura are displayed within this limited portfolio of work from the wedding.
If you want something different for your wedding, then this is a must see venue. The food is exceptional and your guests will eat in an intimate little courtyard which is overlooked by your guests bedrooms.
Every room has different decor and there are limited rooms. It is very much in the style of a boutique hotel. Colourful displays in every direction, helped along by the brightly coloured walls and vivid, mature fuchsias.
I’m looking forward to returning to this place sometime soon.
