We are back in Es Castell at the Anglican Church for a wedding on the east side of the island near Mahon. A religious ceremony at the Anglican Church initially, in the town of Es Castel, and afterward at Son Granot for the reception. The ceremonies are delivered by Reverend Paul Strudwick. He has lived on the island for many years and has delivered many wedding ceremonies. Please contact him if you want a religious ceremony. His partner can also advise and deliver on non-religious ceremonies if you want any help with this.

More on Son Granot – Son Granot dates back to the eighteenth century when the island was under British occupation. Georgian in style, it is packed full of interesting features. The front elevation with it’s grand steps and approach to the front door is interesting. The balconies and steps serve well for any wedding photographer, for large group photographs.

The weather was initially unsettled. However it cleared by midday after a rather wet start to the day. Before the ceremony began, the sky turned brilliant blue and our bridal party was excited and optimistic. Despite the wonderful weather however later in the day, the team at Son Granot decided upon plan B. The guests were to have their wedding breakfast in the equally delightful indoor dining area.

Despite the good Mediterranean weather, the Balearics can have their fair share of rain. And when it has a downpour, it often rains heavy and fast. Therefore it is very important that your wedding venue has a plan B. Many do but a few we have photographed do not.

Venues owners that take chances on your wedding day should not be trusted and we would advise against booking these venues. Below is the link for Son Granot;
